Children's Medicine VS Adult Medicine

I am having cough and colds for three days now. But I didn't take medicine until today. I had Nyquil as cough/cold relief and it didn't taste good. I guess all of adult medicine tastes really nasty while children's medicine tastes fruity, yummy. So, why don't they make adult medicine as yummy as the kids' does?
