Do you love summer?

Summer's almost here so now is the right time to plan things that should be done outside. I just love summer, not the heat, but the fact that we can do a lot of things outside compared to cold season where we always feel like being stuck inside the house.

So, you may be you're wondering what the things I'm planning for this summer. Well, nothing unusual. Pretty much the same thing we had last year. You know, have some fun in the water by going to lakes, waterparks, etc. That's why I love about summer cos you can be outdoors and can be soaking wet anytime you wanted to.

Well, for those days that we want be able to go out to parks, I love just staying out in the porch. Grill some meat in the pit and enjoy the moment being outside. Only that we need to get some patio furniture to make our staying outside more comfortable.

How about you? Do you love summer?

Our Nicest Neighbor

Last Thursday, May 21st, afternoon, we were surprised with a Little Tykes table and chairs outside our house. It was set on the ground properly just like somebody put them purposely. We just left it there thinking that somebody just left it there accidentally. But it was still there the next day and the next day. We're guessing that somebody really left it there in purpose and somehow knew that we got a 2-year-old. So, we just brought it inside the house.

Then, just this afternoon, someone knocked on our door. It was our only neighbor who says hi to us (really..our neighbors are not friendly) and he lives in the house next to us. We found out that he was the Santa neighbor who just left something for our son outside our house. He was just making sure that we found it and let us know that he got more stuff in his house. Those toys are actually his daughter's but she's already too old to play with them now, so he decided to give them to my son if it's okay with us. Of course, it is AOK for us! Free things are good cos they're FREE (lolz)!.

So, aside from the table set we got the other day, we got a big toy box, blocks, and couple lawn chairs, all for my son. Though they're not brand new toys but they look new for my son and he was so happy about it. Thanks to OUR NICEST NEIGHBOR (*wink*).

At the starting point

I woke up very early this morning, 5:30AM which is very new and it's like a miracle cos I usually wakes up at 12 noon or 1:00PM. You may be asking why. Well, it's because I went to sleep early last night plus I had a 5-minute walking exercise. Haha! I know it's not something bragging about but I was proud of myself cos I have been saying that I'd want to exercise million times already but never did it until yesterday. Then early this morning, I did a 15-minute workout. Boy, I love the feeling!

Actually, I am planning to do some taebo or kickboxing cos they say it's a great way to lose some weight cos any cardiovascular exercise can help burn lots of calories, plus it would teach you self defense. But I'm not going to enroll myself in a class cos I know a cheaper way to do it, yet getting the same result. You wanna know? Well, just simply buy the tapes available anywhere (I saw some on eBay and Amazon) by just googling it. Those tapes has the step-by-step video instructions from the beginning to the end of the program, then you can do it in the comfort of your home. So, you don't only get to exercise, but save some gas and time for travel.

I'll have my first job in the US soon

I'm so excited 'cos finally, after a long wait, I'd be able to get my first job here in US. You may be wondering why a long wait.

To give you an idea, I came here in US, almost a year ago with a K1 non-immigrant visa together with my son as K2. Our visa is as good as the tourist visa, it's illegal to get a job here, only that we have the advantage to adjust status as permanent resident aka greencard holder. But it took us a while to adjust status due to financial problems.

Finally, last March, we were able to apply for our adjustment of status, together with the employment authorization document, just in case it will take awhile for us to receive our greencards. Then, just today, I received an email from USCIS saying that our employment authorization got approved and they already sent us the approval notice letter.

Now, I'm starting to look for a job (Yay!!). I'm so excited cos before I left my home country, Philippines, I didn't have a job and I wasn't used to it cos I had been working since I finished school. But I'm gonna get a part-time job as a start cos it's hard to leave my son now that he is so used of having me around. I know it'd hard but I think it'd be easier if we'll gonna do it one step at a time.

Anyway, thinking about getting a job made me think about starting a better life, and of course, vacations can't miss my thoughts. Actually, I'm already thinking about Vegas vacations for next year. Boy, am I too excited?

Staying Fit

Looking at my body now makes me so desperate about staying fit. I am way much bigger than what I am used to. Everytime an old friend of mine from the Philippines sees me, their first comment would usually about how big I am now and it hurts to admit, but yes I am really big now.

I used to weigh 94lbs. before but now I weigh 145lbs. I am so tempted to get the best diet pills just so I can get the body I had before. That way I'd feel confident about my body again. But I guess it wasn't a good idea at all.

While thinking about this, it came to my mind that it is just really a matter of disciplining myself, food and exercise wise. Good thing I found a gym near us that's so affordable and provides the same facility like the other expensive gyms. I'll go there one of this days and check it out. I also have avoided soda for two weeks now. So, you see, I'm really working on it.

Well, actually the real reason why I wanted to have a slim body is not just for me to look but to feel good as well cos I feel so much healthier when I was slim.

Clean, inside and out

Last week, a friend of mine and my Mom from the Philippines sent me a text message about the epidemic that has been around the US now, Swine Flu. It got them so worried especially when they heard the news that a 22-month-old boy died in Brownsville, TX because of the said flu.

I know this news may not be new to you anymore and you may have already read a lot of stuff about it --what it's about, protective measures, etc. But even without the swine flu, we should always protect ourselves because prevention is always better than cure. We should always make sure that we're clean inside and out. And actually being clean means being healthy too. That's why colon cleanse is good because that would clean you inside.

I hope that everyone knew how to keep themselves clean so that everyone can avoid the dreadful diseases such as swine flu.

Window Shopping

Oh yeah, I'm back! I know, I know, it's been a while since I made my last post. I was just trying to get myself back by avoiding the computer as much as I can. Lots of things goes around the Internet and most of these things affects me so bad. But we'll not gonna talk about that right now.

Anyway, do you do window shopping? I'm sure you do. And if you ask me, I certainly do. I love window shopping, and of course, I love more when I don't just look around but be able to buy something too. Actually, window shopping is good if you wanna something you want to do some research with first, like buying a car, furniture, and appliances. Because those things needs to last and you need to make sure that you really know what you wanted and needed before you settle on buying something because of what you've heard about it and how it looks like.

But I usually do the window shopping for those stuffs when I'm with my husband because we always need to decide together. So, if I'm alone doing my window shopping, I always go to the women's shoes department (What a surprise?!). Of course, shoes are all women's bestfriend, right?
