My New Year Greetings To All

I know it's not quite New Year yet but I just want to greet everyone who happens to drop by my site.

This year, 2008, was not an easy year for me. In fact, I had a lot of struggles that I thought I would've never survived. But I stood strong, and even if I wanted to give up most of the time, I never did 'cos deep inside me, I know that I can make it 'cos I have Faith in God, all the time. And despite of all those struggles, I had lot of things to celebrate about. Just like being married to a guy that I have been waiting for all my life. And not just that, I always thank that I still have my life and will continue to cherish every moment while I am alive.

One thing that always keeps me going, despite of the hardships I've been to, is I know that lots of people out there had much more worries than what I had, but they are still surviving and continue to live and enjoy life as much as they can 'cos life is precious and we can only grasp it ONCE.

A lot of sorrows yet a lot of happiness, that's always what we have each year 'cos that is what life is all about. And my wish for all of us for this coming year, 2009 are.....

♥ A blessed life;
♥ Being healthy physically, emotionally, mentally, and most importantly, spiritually;
♥ To be safe all the time;
♥ A fortune, enough to let us enjoy the fine things in life but would still remember that life is not just all about that;
♥ To receive a lot of Love and to give a lot of Love back; and
♥ To keep the faith in our God 'cos whatever we have right now are all His will and He won't give us anything that we would never survive.

Planning a business

I am planning to start a business anytime from now. I've always been interested on eBay selling business, but I just don't know where to start yet. Until yesterday, I saw my Victoria Secret bra that I bought for my wedding dress and didn't end up using, then I decided to sell it on eBay for $50.00 'cos I bought it for $82.00. But it will be FREE shipping. I just posted it yesterday and no one had placed bid on it yet, so I don't know how it will turn out. I hope someone will buy it though.

Anyway, since I started selling on eBay, I was thinking of pursuing it and sell more. Actually, I already bought some nice long-sleeve tops online that I'll be selling on eBay or hopefully with my own website. Slowly but surely, I'd like to build an online store and buy apparel in a very affordable price. Once, I'll get the tops that I bought online, I will post it here for y'all to see. But I need to make sure first that it has a good quality too 'cos it is always the most important thing about selling something, having a good quality product. And having a worthy price is a plus.

My Last Minute Shopping

Time is flying really fast. The year is about to end and so as the Holiday. I felt bad for not being able to send the gifts to my family in the Philippines yet because I wasn't able to get the gift that my Mom likes. But I just did my last minute shopping a few minutes ago. Thanks to the last minute gifts from Kmart, I found Accessories New Look Organizer Tote Handbag that my Mom will surely love.

Kmart is really great for always providing the best deals with their low prices and great quality products. All the other online store doesn't have much great things for gifts left now, but Kmart is something you can count on for last minute gifts. They still have wonderful things that is perfect for a gift this holiday. Now that the holiday is about to end, do your last minute shopping at Kmart before it's too late.

As for me, I am just waiting for the order to be shipped and my gifts to my loved ones will be ready to go all the way to the Philippines. I am sure they are all excited about it, and I am excited to give it to them too. But I still wish I can pack myself and send to the Philippines though because I miss my parents so much. But there is nothing I can do about that right now. I hope that somehow, with the gifts I have for them, they would still be as happy as I wanted them to be eventhough I am not with to celebrate this Holiday season.

Back to EC dropping

Finally, after a few months of being an inactive EC dropper, I've decided to drop some EC love on my droppers for the month of December. I have been inactive, because first, I don't have decent PC to use right now. Our laptop is still not working properly and we just can't afford to get a new one for now. That's why I am using my sister-in-law's computer which is the slowest computer I've ever used in my entire life. For some reason, her computer loads really slow and so each time I'll go to a page and drop some card, it'll take me a few minutes to see the EC gadget. It's just losing my patience each time I try. But, late this afternoon, I felt like dropping.

I'd like to thank those people who keeps dropping EC on my site(s) even if they don't receive a drop back from me and I am really sorry for that. That's why when I did my dropping earlier, I prioritize those who are in my Drop Inbox 'cos I really owe 'em alot.

An Unseen Mess

Christmas has just passed which means that I need to start the cleaning 'cos New Year would be here soon. While I was doing my normal chores, I notice something on our sink. It looks like a tiny mold building around the faucets. Oh! it's one of those unseen mess in our house. Good thing I've seen it before it gotten worse.

Check Your Blog Page Speed

One of the most important thing to consider in getting more traffic is the speed of your page because when your page loads slowly, your visitor will leave your page before they even view your content. So, you need to make sure that before your visitor leave (or not even letting them leave), they know how interesting your page is by knowing your content.

Earlier, I checked my blog's speed using Stopwatch that is recommended by blogger. I was so shocked and disappointed that my page took more than 5 minutes to load. So, I deleted some widgets that I don't really need and reduced the blog posts displayed. I ran Stopwatch again and guess what? My page loaded completely in 13 seconds.

The following are some things that may cause your page's speed to load slowly:

Number of posts displayed
My page used to have 10 posts displayed and I lowered it down to 6 which helped a lot. Yeah, I can relate to you when you say that you wanted to show a lot of posts to attract your readers. If your readers are patient enough to wait for your page to load, that's one thing but take note that most readers are not like that. So, just make sure that you always have an interesting topic posted which is always the key to more readers and traffic.

Widgets
I think this is the most common one. Don't put too much widget on your sidebar. Normally, it helps a lot if you put your widgets on the bottom of the page. But I won't suggest that. I'd suggest that you select the best widgets that you needed the most and beneficial to your blog and reader.

Media content
True that we need to put some images and videos on our pages to attract visitors, but again, don't overdo it. You may put a thumbnail of an image then provide a link to the exact size of it. Basically, you can still post image and video but have it smaller so that it won't affect your page's speed that much.

If you are worried that your page loads slowly, then you need to clean up your pages. You can run Stopwatch for you to know which widget takes a lot of time to load or is causing your page to load slowly.

Busy for the holidays! *wink*

We were wrapping the gifts right now. I'm just taking a break while my husband ran to the store to get more gift wrappers 'cos we ran out of it.

By the way, we don't celebrate Christmas because we are Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) and we know that there's not in the bible that says that Jesus Christ is born on December 25th. In addition, literally, when you derive the word Christmas, Christ is our Lord Jesus Christ, while mas is mass. So it doesn't actually mean birth of Christ but mass for the Christ which only Catholics would do in their church service.

Anyway, I am not making this post to talk about religion 'cos I am not really into debating about religion. You may be wondering why I am wrapping gifts when we don't celebrate Christmas. Well, actually, the gifts are not for Christmas. Starting this year, we will have our Family Day with my husband's family each December 25th. We had it on the Christmas because that's the only time that they all don't have work 'cos it's Holiday. The gifts are just special somethings that we give each other before the year ends.

I'm pre-occupied as of the moment

Yes, I'm pre-occupied as of the moment. I have been very busy transferring and tweaking our website, Love In Distance. I just got very excited because finally, I was able to make use of the domain andyjona.com that I bought last June. Oh yeah, FINALLY! Dumb me, I just realize that GoDaddy has a Free Hosting for every domain you buy from them. So, now, I made use of that free hosting. Though, I am looking at the paid hosting too but I just can't afford it for now. Better make more money online first before I invest for another site.

Anyway, though the hosting I have now for our website is free, I am still enjoying it because I can do a lot of things there. Now, I have added a Forum page. I am still working on it though. I am not an expert about it, but I am learning. I helped a few Filipinas in their visa processing. Though I didn't do a lot for them, but I am trying my best to answer each question they have since I already experienced the same process. Hopefully, with the forum, more Filipinas who already went through the same process would be able to help other Filipinas who are planning to get their visa to be united with their loved one here in the US. And at the same time, we would be able to socialize online because we all have something in common, married to a US citizen.

I also transferred my Love In Distance ~ Blog to Blogspot so that I can easily (hopefully!) update it since most of my blogs are in Blogspot now. Only one is hosted by Wordpress actually. And thanks to BTemplates again for the Free Template. I like it so much! Now, 3 of my blogs got their templates from them. They are all so awesome.

Now, my concern is, how am I be able to keep all my sites up. Actually, my online addiction is driving me nuts. But I can't help myself. I really love to blog, make sites, explore the net, etc. If only I always have enough time. But a Mom like me? Nah...I will still do the best that I can though to be an active blogger and take care of my family at the same time.

Very Late Breakfast

It's exactly 12:10 here right now and I am still preparing my breakfast. Why? Because I woke up at 10:30 AM. Lazy bum, I know I am. But I keep having hard time going to sleep at night. I'd normally dozed off at around 1:00-2:00 AM, that's why I usually get up very late in the morning.

Anyway, I'm having bacon, egg, and RICE!! Yippee! It's been a while since I had rice. It seems that I already got used to not having rice. People here in the US are not really that big on rice, especially my hubby who's diabetic. He's trying to lessen his carb intake as much as possible and I am very willing to support him with that. It's a way for me to keep myself from diabetes too since I can be prone to it coz diabetes runs in my Mom's side of the family. In fact, my grandfather died from diabetes.

Well, anyway, I gotta eat my breakfast now. But, I just checked my blog out and inviting everyone to join my 2nd BoL's Brain Pain Meme/Contest. Check out Our Website with it's Own Domain now

I have been very busy updating and transferring everything to our new website, Love in Distance that has it's own domain now. It was hosted for free before by Freewebs.com, but I can't use the domain name that I bought from GoDaddy.com because I need to pay for monthly hosting. (Sure do, having a website is not cheap)

But yesterday, I was browsing through my GoDaddy account and I realized that I can have website with them using their Website Tonight service. Though it is still hosted for free and has some ads on the web, at least, I can use the domain that I bought since June, 2008. The domain was just parked at GoDaddy since then until yesterday. I am so glad that I am able to use it now and our website is using the www.andyjona.com domain now.

My first snow ever

My first snow ever!



Last Tuesday night, December 9th, was my first snow experience. I can't believe I would be experiencing snow here in Texas because my husband keeps telling me that it rarely snow here. I was really disappointed when I heard that but there's nothing I can do. I felt better though when he told me that we will go somewhere where it'd really snow, but when? I don't know yet.

Then last Tuesday morning, it was really warm. In fact, the temperature hit the highest in December which is 81ºF. Then suddenly, around late afternoon, cold front was coming through then it rained ice in the evening. Then around 11:00 PM, it snowed!

We got so excited. In fact, me and my son went out to our porch without any coat on, just our house shirts and short pants. Was it cold? Yes, it was but we didn't feel it that time coz our excitement took over.

We immediately changed to warmer clothes, put a coat and shoes on. Then went outside with my sis-in-law, Yvonne. We all played with the snow. But it didn't last long though. It only snowed for less than an hour. Oh well, we're in Central Texas. We just got lucky that it snowed. And I am so glad that finally, after 24 years of hoping to see snow (actually, less than that coz I didn't know about snow yet when I was still a baby. hehe), I was able to feel and see it. Though it may not be the snow like in all the other states, where it's all white everywhere, but who cares? We don't even a single bit of snow in the Philippines (hehe).

Naughty surprise for his birthday

I've been having fun doing the holiday shopping. It's sale everywhere but the prices are still overwhelming. Though you can still find cheaper buys if you just search patiently but it would surely take a while.

Anyway, a naughty thought came into my mind while I was in the lingerie section and I saw the sexy lingerie displayed. Something that I want to do for my husband on his upcoming birthday which would be this 20th. I would not talk about it yet here because he reads my blog. Though he may have an idea but I'll keep the full detail as a surprise. I'll just blog about it after his birthday (wink).

Keeping pets healthy

Who says that having pets is as easy as 1-2-3? It can be if you put your heart into it.

So far, we have three cats in our house. I said so far because I am always planning to get my son his won pet, which would be a dog, if he is old and responsible enough to have one. Which would be 1-2 years from now.

Right now, I notice that my son is very responsible for making sure that the cats had foods and water in their bowl. It really amazes me how he does that. He constantly check on their bowls and lets us know that we needed to put more food and water in their bowl.

But having a pet is not just about feeding them. Depending on what kind of pet you have, but normally, each animals needs special care and attention because they are like human beings too. They can be healthy if you keep them healthy but if you don't, you should think a million times before you get yourself a pet. But keeping them healthy is not a hard task as long as you know how. But, again, it is not as easy as 123. You need to provide them their own pet supplements and each type of animals and breeds (for dogs and cats). So, before getting some, you may want to consult the experts first such as the vet.

Me and My Weird Taste Buds

My husband thinks that I have a weird taste buds coz I like weird combination of foods just like pizza and tacos with ketchup. I know I am not alone for liking this combination. I think my sister-in-law is weirder than me coz she likes pizza with ranch dressing. Though I really think that sometimes I am weird. Just like last night, I decided to eat hard-boiled eggs with tartar sauce.

It just came to my mind last night while I was eating mac and cheese. I was actually craving for pizza but can't get one so I thought of something else. Hard-boiled eggs came into my mind and then the tartar sauce. Sounds good to me so I tried it and yes, it really did taste good. Now, I have a new combination of food. You may try it and let me know how weird my taste buds are. :-)

Not used to Winter, but I Love it

I guess, almost every part of US can feel the winter breeze now. I don't know for sure because I haven't been around the US yet, but I know for sure that it is cold here now in Texas. The temperature here, these past few days, is somewhere around 30ºF-60ºF. Remember, 32ºF is the freezing point. In the Philippines, we use Celsius instead of Farenheit which the freezing point is 0ºC.

Anyway, it is hard for me because I am not used to cold weather and it's the same for my son. But I shall say, it is better to be cold around than humid which is what we usually have in the Philippines. At first, before we went here in Texas, I was worried that we can't survive the coldness, but I was surprised to see all the things that would keep us warm. Of course, there's the winter jacket and all the other winter stuffs to wear that I have only seen here (of course, no one would want to sell winter stuffs in the Philippines when there's no winter here .. logic!). Then their airconditioner has warm and cold buttons. They also have an electric blanket that would help you keep warm the whole night if the heater in your house is not enough.

After knowing all those things, I was not worried anymore. I should've known then that if they don't have all those stuffs to keep anybody warm, then all the people here in the US shouldn't have survived winter. Oh well, I was just pessimistic about it. And somehow, I am loving the coldness.

I can see clearly now

Yesterday, I had my very first eye exam here in the US. That is why I wasn't able to update my blogs coz me and my family had been out almost all day.

Anyway, my eye exam went well except for I didn't have the prescription for my contact lenses yet coz the doctor can't determine which one suits me best until I tried couple more toric contact lenses that he is suggesting.

I am nearsighted and I have astigmatism as well. That is why I need toric contact lenses coz that type of lenses will correct astigmatism. I tried one brand of toric but I didn't like it (or I don't like toric at all) coz it is more thicker and bigger than the normal contact lenses that I am used to wear. But I know that it is what I needed. So, my eye doctor gave me two contact lenses, the normal and the toric, so that I can decide which one I really like.

For now, I am contented with the normal one though I know that the toric can let me see clearer. I am now wearing an opti-free contact lenses which is best for someone who is lazy like me who doesn't normally remove their contact lenses at night when going to bed coz this type of contact lenses can let the eyes breath and get some oxygen. Though all doctors would still suggest to remove contact lenses before sleeping or let eyes rest from contact lenses at least six hours, but if we don't do as what they say, opti-free contact lenses is best for us.

Right now, the eye clinic where I went to has only one brand of toric contact lenses that suits me. But he wants me to try couple more brands which are cheaper than any other toric but they don't have it right at this instance. So, he ordered some from the manufacturer which means that I need to see him again once it arrives in his clinic. By that time, I'd know which one should be prescribed to me.

So long, Tatay Benhur...

A text message woke me up early this morning. It was from my Mom and it is a bad news. Benhur, a friend, used to be my teammate in Fighting Irish Team (Chat Group), and a workmate in Concentrix (formerly known as Link2Support), has passed away in the dawn of December 5th while he was at work.

It is so sad to know that someone you know and who is used to be close to you died.

Tatay Benhur. I can always remember him as a fun-loving, naughty, and a good friend. He is one of a kind, I can say. A faithful husband and a loving father to his two cute boys. He loves his family to death. We know that coz he talks about them a lot. Hardworking. He is such as good man. Everyone can say that.

No, he is not as old as what you think he is coz I call him Tatay. He is in his mid-forties. I only call him Tatay coz he is the oldest in our group. But he looks young despite of his age coz he loves to smile. He seldom talks about his problem so you'd almost think that he doesn't have one.

"Tatay, though you left the immortal world, but your memories remains with us, always will, especially those happy times that you share with us all. Your unique way of making us laugh in our stomach would never be forgotten. We love you Tatay. So long ..."

Paris made the right choice

I have been watching Paris Hilton's My New BFF series on MTV eversince it started. It started with 18 wanna-be-Paris's-BFF guys and gals, but last week, two were left: Britney from Boston and Vanessa from Alaska (no, they're not Britney Spears and Vanessa Williams. lol!). Earlier today was the season finale and honestly, it is making me nervous too (yeah, you can call me nuts!).

I was disappointed that she chose Vanessa over Shelley from Texas. I never liked Vanessa because, just like what the contestants was telling about her, she is just an obsessed fan of Paris. I guess everyone sae that except Paris. She was blinded with Vanessa's crying, really. Paris is emotional and she is so vulnerable.

Shelley, on the other hand, is a nice girl from a small town in Texas. Nice is always the first one work anyone can say about her. She is nothing but nice though and everyone says that she is boring, except for me. I like her because no one hates her. She is the only one among the contestants that doesn't have enemy.

But anyway, Vanessa and Britney are competing against each other to be Paris's BFF. They both had the chance to show to Paris who deserves to win because each of them will spend a whole day with Paris in New York.

But in the long run, I am so glad that Britney won. I never liked Vanessa, she is a stalker and she proved it a lot of times. Paris doesn't need her. Britney is a cool rock star who is always mistaken as using Paris to fulfill her dreams.

First Impression Lasts

I had my first order from drugstore.com over a week ago and today was one of my orders delivered. Notice that I highlighted one. I ordered two items, a 23.6 fl oz Body Wash and Lightweight Hair Dryer. For some reason, they can't ship it both at the same time. They didn't even mention the reason. But since I am a patient customer, I let that pass.

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from them telling me that there was a problem with the shipping of the second item which is the hair dryer. They said that the problem was with their distribution department and it was backordered. So, what, I'll be expecting it to arrive, I guess, two weeks from now?!

Wait, there's more. Today, when I got my package, I was totally disappointed because I had eleven sponges in the box instead of the body wash. What the hell?! Are they kidding me???

So, I called their customer service hotline and spoke a very calm representative. It's not that I wanted him to not be calm, but it seems that they are used to handling situations like what I have, A TOTAL MESS. He offered me 2 options, a refund or an express delivery of my item (3-day shipping). I chose the express delivery. So, now, let's see what would happen next.

Coffee, please?

I'm not really fond of coffee but when I was working in the call center, I need to have a sip or else I will be conk out while working. Truly, coffee makes us call center graveyard shift pips alive. The only problem though is that the capresso in our pantry is, most of the time, in use, especially during at night. So, normally, we would ask someone on break to make us coffee so that we will have our coffee ready when it would be our turn to take a break.

Well, I just miss those moments while I was working as call center agent. It was my longest job, so far and though there are some things I don't like with the company and some people I worked with, I enjoyed being a call center agent, HONESTLY.

A nature-lover, I am

I am always a nature-lover. I love to be outside and do lots of outdoor activities. Unfortunately, I can't always do that because we live near the city. But I still want to be close to nature, one way or another.

One thing I wanted to do is to plant some trees in our yard. They would also add shade and fresh air in our area which what I like the most. One tree that I want to plant in our yard is the Mulberry trees because I like mulberry fruits so much plus they are a great source of vitamins.

Oh, I can't wait to start planting those trees in our yard.

Serious about working at home

I used to have a stable job eversince I finish college. But since I chose to be with my husband here in TX, USA, I also chose to be a stay-at-home Mom. Well, it is not actually a choice I made, but I just don't have a choice (makes sense?!).

The reason behind is we are still on our process of getting our Greencard since I arrived here with a K1 fiancee visa that is considered as non-immigrant visa but still fell under the immigrant visa category.

I can say that it is somehow a blessing in disguise because staying at home with my son makes me closer to him because I get to spend my whole time with him and we both love it. Right now, he is still 2, and as time would pass by, we, mothers, whether we like it or not, but it will come to a point where our children wouldn't want to spend their whole time with us because they will meet friends and more. So, while they still want do it, it is good to take the opportunity because they won't stay that way for long.

So, right now, I am getting serious about working at home. I get to earn a bit with my blogging, but it's not enough to support our needs. Right now, I am still searching for good online jobs where I can earn a bigger amount of money. Listening to music

Listening to music is one of my favorite pastime activities, so I always make sure that I have my phone and MP3 with me wherever I go. So, one of the things that I wanted for this holiday is an iPod. Though I am thinking of buying it for myself, but it would be nicer if someone would give it to me as a gift (hehe).

Actually, I am looking at some ipods now and battling with myself whether I will buy it now or wait for someone to possibly give one to me. What do you think?

Paris Hilton's My New BFF Craze

Call me nuts but I really enjoy watching Paris Hilton's My New BFF TV show on MTV. I know that I am not alone for loving Paris but I like her, she's so cute.

Anyway, it's been awhile since I posted an about what happened lately on the show. Well, couple of weeks ago, they all went to vegas, Paris style, meaning really fabulous.

They went there in a private plane. Then they partied all night. One of their challenges was to perform in a bar and Kelley won that. Another one was to bring guys from there to their mansion in LA, and Vanessa won that challenge. In the long run, Kiki went home after the first challenge, then Kelley followed her a week after.

Almost done cleaning the house

I am exhausted! But I am not done yet, almost done though.

There's not much cleaning we actually need to do at the house because it is just a small house. But what tire me up the most is picking each toys (Abi's and the cats') because they are scattered all over the house. Some are underneath the appliances. Imagine doing sit-ups and squats 300 times at the same time. Picking up those toys all over the house are like doing those exercises.

Project for home

Me and my husband made a list of the projects that we wanted to do for our home before the year ends or early next year. Most of them are replacing the old things we have, just like our Couches. Thanksgiving Day Preparation

Tomorrow would be my first ever Thanksgiving Day celebration. We already made some preparations earlier. Since we are assigned to cook some of the foods, I helped my husband out with the apple pie earlier. Then, I will be doing a general in the house today after I blog to have it presentable tomorrow since my husband's will be coming over for Thanksgiving. I am planning on helping my sister-in-law with her broccoli and rice casserole later this evening coz I wanna learn how to make it.

Am I excited? Yes, I really am. This would be my first Thanksgiving and I have lots of things to Thank about so I know I need to celebrate.

Ice Cream For Cold Weather

My husband works in Sonic, drive-in fast food restaurant here in the US, and he told me that they sell more ice cream now that the weather is cooler than what they usually sell. Sounds weird huh?!

We are not supposed to eat ice cream coz the weather is already cold but it's really weird how lots of people crave for ice cream in cold weather, even me is craving for ice cream now (hehe).

I remember my husband told me how he eats ice cream underneath his sheets during winter because he really likes to eat it during cold weather. I said to him then that I would never want ice cream in winter. But guess what?! When we went to the grocery store, I craved for ice cream (lol). So, yeah, we'll be having ice cream in a little bit.

Spoiled the whole thing

Have you ever experienced being in a perfect moment then all of a sudden a single thing came in the way and it spoiled everything? It sucks, right? Oh well, things happened and usually when you least expect it. But it really sucks how a simple comment or gesture can ruin everything.

Sometimes, it's really hard to think about all the things that you need to do before you do them, It doesn't always happen and it doesn't work out all the time. It is even common to happen that we may have said something that hurt someone without us being aware of it. We will just be surprise to know she already hate you for something that you don't know you did. Yeah, crazy, but it happens.

But if you have done something wrong, whether you did it intentionally to hurt somebody or not, there's only one word that should just fix everything, SORRY. For me it is magical but Dao Meng Zhi (from Meteor Garden) doesn't like saying sorry coz if we accept a simple apology as saying sorry, then police will be useless. That's his opinion though.

Anyway, I am just saying this because I just remembered something happened last night that is related to this but I will not go through it coz it's a personal matter. Thanks for reading! :-)

Lucky and Blessed

Whenever I think about my husband, I always remember how lucky I am. No, he is not perfect. No one is. But for me, he is just next to perfect.

Sometimes, I would even ask myself why do I have to deserve a man like him. He is a really good man. Everyone can say that. Though sometimes he is a big smartass, but that is just part of him being a human (or is he? lol)

One of the things that I am lucky about for having him is his family. They are so dear to me. Eversince I met them, they always treated me as a part of their family. They loved my son like their own blood and I can always see it. No doubt about that.

There is just one word that I can describe my marriage to Mr. Andrew Wayne Kuhn, BLESSED.

Getting sick again?

Oh I hate the change of climate. I hate it not because I am not used to it but because my body seemed to not liking it. I like cold weather, who doesn't? But not the cold-snow weather, just cold weather like what we have been having these past few days. But even though I love it, my body keeps telling me to hate it coz each time the weather changes like this, I will get sick. Or maybe the reason why is I am really used to it.

Like right now, I am not feeling very well. We went out yesterday and stayed outside with the cold weather for a few hours. Then when I woke up this morning, I felt like a total crap. Cough and colds has came back to me again. But I am so proud of my son though coz while I had been sick couple of times since we got here, my son, never. I hope he would stay that way coz I would never wanted him to be sick. It will drive me real nuts.

But, oh well, I am sick, but that would never stop me to blog. That is why I am making this post now. :D

Playground Fun

We just got home from the playground. Actually, we got home then had lunch and now I am blogging again while hubby is putting our son to bed for his nap time.

At least once a week, we'd see to it that we go somewhere to have fun and bond. Normally, we'd go to a playground just like what we did today. Though it is very cold outside, but we just had a couple of shirts on to keep ourself warm and comfy.

Originally, hubby planned on going to an animal shelter to play with some dogs and cats. We already did that once and we all had fun especially after seeing a german sheperd puppy who likes my hubby so much. But this time, we hoped to go to a different animal shelter but when we got there, there was a sign that said "Authorized Personnel Only", so we assumed that we can't get inside. We tried calling them but it will only send us to an answering machine. Good thing though there is a playground nearby that shelter, so we just end up going there. Then we did some hiking since there's a hiking trail along the river there.

Even if we didn't ended up doing the things that we planned but we still had a great time together.

Christmas is in the air

That is what people would say if it is starting to be cold. Right now, we have 45ºF temperature outside and according to the weather forecast yesterday, it is supposed to go down between 10ºF to 30ºF today. Ohhh...cold... I know this would not be the coldest yet coz in some part of US is much cooler than what we have right now here in Texas. But I am not used to cold weather like this coz I grew up in the Philippines where it is warm most of the time.

Asexuality, is it normal?

I was watching 20/20 on WeTV earlier and the topic is about weird marriage and relationship. Then they interviewed some people who are Asexual, someone who does not experience sexual attraction.

One of people that 20/20 had interviewed is the founder of Asexuality Organization on the web. He was 23 years but never had sec and never had a relationship. He said that he was never even attracted to anyone yet. The host asked him, "What if she will give a pill that would make him want sex, would he take it and have sex?". He said, "No coz I don't want to have sex.".

There was a couple who are planning to get married and they are one their guests said that they never had sex. But there was one time whne they were fooling around and suddenly felt the urge to have sex, but at that time, it never happened. Thet had sex though but only once and doesn't want to try it again. Though they quit from the asexuality organization but they still considered themselves asexual.

Asexuality is different from Celibacy. Celibacy is by choice while asexuality is something that just naturally grew in them.

I always like watching 20/20 but this topic really caught my attention. Honestly, this is the first time I've really understand asexuality. The first thing that came into my mind was "that's crap". Who would not want to have sex? Yes, sex may just be a humanly pleasure, but it's different feeling and it was clearly stated in the bible that we should engaged to it, so it is also God's commandment. Therefore, if you are married, it is a sin not to have sex with your partner. But that's my opinion and we are all entitled to it.

Anyway, I didn't post this video to embarrass him coz I had his permission and he intentionally did it so that I can have that video. He is always silly in real life and he is taking that as a compliment. Anyway, he is not alone, my son and me, myself are silly too. I'm sure you are too, right? :D

Guitar Hero

Finally, I was able to play the talk-of-the-town new game Guitar Hero. My sister-in-law had just bought another Guitar Hero guitar so she has two guitars now. She really wanted me and my husband to play with her but we just can;t find time. But last Sunday, my son had stayed asleep when we got home from visiting my hubby's parents, so I finally had the chance since I didn't start my blogging that day yet. My sister-in-law invited me again before I started the blogging too and I don't want to turn her down.

I had a great fun only that since it was my first time, I couldn't get through most pf the songs that we played. I don't think it's hard though, it's only a matter of getting used to the guitar and familiarizing the buttons. But I guess I did pretty well and my sister-in-law said that I was improving based on the stats (hope so..lol).

Addicted to online games

If you have noticed, I don't make as much post as what I usually do these past few days. The main reason is I don't wanna be rich (jk)(lol). Seriously, because I am addicted to a couple of online games now, as what the title of this post says. My hubby has been a little bit addicted too, but I am not letting him because we only have one computer that is working properly (not really) right now (lol).

Planning for Thanksgiving Day

I am excited for Thanksgiving! We don't have Thanksgiving in the Philippines. But now that we are here in the US with my husband, we will have our very first Thanksgiving Day. And we will have it here in our own humble home with my husband's family: his parents and his sister. Unfortunately, his brother would be celebrating it with his wife's family so he won't be with us during that day.

Anyway, me, my husband, and his sister will be fixing the turkey and the dressing, apple pie, cheesy corn, and other stuffs that I can't recall at the top of my head right now. I may don't know how to do them but I am always willing to learn and taste (lol).

Playground

We just got home from the playground. At least once a week, on my hubby's day off, we would go to the playground nearby for my son to be able to run around have fun. That would a way for me and my son to get outside the house. Also, it is another way for us the whole family to bond.

Waffles for dinner

Who says that waffles are only for breakfast? Well, not for me. Waffles can be eaten anytime. Just like me and my son's dinner yesterday. We are both alone together, so there's no sense for me to prepare a typical meal coz it takes a while and I don't want to prepare that much coz we already have lots of leftovers in our fridge. Though one cooking of waffle is more than enough for us and we eventually have leftover, but that is always my husband's share and he already ate it for breakfast earlier.

Hubby's embarrassing moment

This is not about embarrassing my hubby coz I would never do that, even if he'd ask me to do so. But this is about of those embarrassing and funny experiences he had when he was just a kid. If I remember it right, he was around 7 years old when this happened.

He went with his father, one day, to hunt deer and to train him on hunting deers as well. His father showed him the differences between a male and a female deer. Then, when they got home, his Mom asked him what's the differences he saw between the male and female deer, and he said "male deer is HORNY" (lol).

If you didn't get that, let me explain it to you further. The most obvious distinction of a male deer is has horns while female deer hasn't. So, that is what he saw, that's why he said Horny. Makes sense?! :-)

Sheet hog

When I woke up this morning, my husband greeted me with something really amusing that I did last night. He said that I was a sheet hog coz I didn't share the sheet with him while we're sleeping. Actually, he said it happened early this morning before he got up from bed. I grabbed the whole sheet and I had my body wrapped around the whole sheet. He didn't got mad or upset about it though coz he knew that I did it unconciously (lol!) but if it was the other way around, he will be in great trouble. Not fair, right? But that's who it is supposed to be (lol! luv u hon... :-P).

Getting fussy

My son is getting fussy now. I feel about it coz I think he needs my attention pretty bad. I am giving him attention though but I am doing my assignment at the same time and he doesn't like it. He wants a 100% attention from. So' I'd better finish this all stuff right away before my son would beat me (lol .. jk)

Tired and restless

Today, I am so tired and seems like restless. I may have rest but it can never be enough. This all started since my husband had been going home late from work regularly coz he is always assigned for closing shift. I am blaming it to him coz he doesn't have a choice about it. I just can't go to sleep when he's not home yet coz I worry a lot. So, it's somehow my fault.

Now, I feel like I am about to be sick. Most part of my body is aching. It could be because of lack of rest or I don't move a lot. But I really don't know. I'm just not feeling well. (*sigh*)

I think I love my hair now (lol!)

I have always been pissed about my hair coz for me it is the worst hair in the entire world. It is so dry and frizzy. Well, I somehow blame myself why my hair has become like what it is now because I haven't been taking care of it before and now I know I need to suffer and pay for it.

But, this post is not about that because I think I love my hair now. Right at this moment, my hair is not as coarse as what it is used to be. Maybe because I got the right product.

I bought new brand of shampoo and conditioner couple of weeks ago and I got a smoothing cream for curly hair and it is also for anti-frizz which what I really needed. I have been using them for couple of days already and I guess it worked this time. This what I did:

-> Shampoo my hair every other day but wash hair and put conditioner on it everyday.
-> Put the hair creme for curly hair that has anti-frizz.
-> Comb hair right after I put the cream and let it dry.
=> Don't comb hair right after it is dried coz it would cause frizziness

That's it. You can try it if you have the same problem that I had with my hair. It wasn't that hard but based on my own experience, it works great.

What's Up?!?

(Asking myself)

Nothing much. I'm disappointed coz I there's no opps that I like available for me. My hubby is cutting a deer meat with his Dad. His Dad did deer hunting the other day with his brother and he gave us a whole deer meat that would probably last for couple of months or more than that. While their processing the meat, I am trying to get Abi away from them coz raw meat has a lot of bacteria that is bad for anyone especially kids.

That would be it for now. I hope that I can make more post later.

Cold Out Here

OMG! This morning is the coldest I ever had here. Right now, the temperature is 48F. Though we already turned our heater on, my feet are still cold. I know it is much cooler in most part of the US and I am lucky to be here in Texas coz there's not really a much difference with the weather in the Philippines.

In pain

Yes, I am in pain right now. There is something near my throat that's bothering me. It hurts when I talk and eat. I know it's not in my throat but it's inside my mouth.

I always hate it when I am feeling something like this. But still blogging though. I think even if I am dying, I would still blog. I can never live a day without blogging.
